A few historic facts and general facts about ludlow

Early settlement dates from the 12th century and its Norman rectilinear street plan still exists.

In the Middle Ages the town industry of textiles began with fulling mills powered by the fast waters of the River Teme.

There are 500 listing buildings having fine architecture of Tudor and Georgian.

The parish church of St Laurence, dates from 1199, is one of the largest churches in the country.

Ludlow is most famous as the gastronomic centre of Shropshire and has more restaurants with Michellin Stars than any other town in the country with exception to London.
